Vinalhaven Land Trust has an extensive series of educational and entertaining walks and talks, often in partnership with other organizations such as the Vinalhaven Historical Society, the Friends of the Library, and North Haven Conservation Partners.
All are listed on the calendar; if you would like notification of the events, you can like us on Facebook or Instagram.
Stay tuned to the VLT calendar, Facebook page, and the Vinalhaven Wind to take part in the exciting programs we have lined up for the coming year. And don't forget how lovely our trails are, all year long! See the calendar of events below, and click here for a link to a list of this past summer's events.
On several mornings throughout the year, May through September, MCHT steward Kirk Gentalen and other local birders, guide a weekly walk to see and hear birds at various locations on Vinalhaven. You may not get this close to a chestnut-sided warbler, but you can be sure Kirk will help you see and hear Vinalhaven's finest. Co-sponsored with Maine Coast Heritage Trust, car pooling for these walks starts at Skoog Park.

When the flag is up, visitors are welcome in the office to peruse the many maps of island ecology and visit the Al and Hilary Creighton Resource Room.
