Walks and Talks

Swimming Pool Talk

Vinalhaven Land Trust has an extensive series of educational and entertaining walks and talks, often in partnership with other organizations such as the Vinalhaven Historical Society, the Friends of the Library, and North Haven Conservation Partners.

All are listed on the calendar; if you would like notification of the events, you can like us on Facebook, or send us your email address and we'll put you on our notification list.

Walks and Talks

What a season of Walks and Talks! Thank you to all who participated in our weekly bird walks, our many guided trips, and our wonderful presentations by experts in the fields of aquaculture, pollinators, ocean protection, and more.

Stay tuned to the VLT calendar, Facebook page, and the Vinalhaven Wind to take part in the exciting programs we are lining up for the off-season. And don't forget how lovely our trails are, all year long!

Bird Walks

Hermit Thrush nest

On several mornings throughout the year (check calendar), Kirk Gentalen guides a walk to see and hear the birds at various locations on Vinalhaven. You may not get close enough to see a hermit thrush nest like this one, but you can be sure Kirk will help you to see and hear Vinalhaven's finest. Co-sponsored with Maine Coast Heritage Trust, car pooling for these walks starts at Skoog Park.
